Remy’s May 24 (2013) Video Message

HI all.  Well, it’s been almost a year since the tragic accident and Remy is getting better all the time.  He still has a fair way to go with rehabilitation, occupational and physical therapy but soon he’ll be able to leave the hospital setting.  Toronto Rehab is conditioning Remy so that he can regain his independence and they are treating him good.  They have him shopping and making simple meals.  He goes to the pool, although he has said he swallows a fair bit of water when he tries to swim, so I’m not sure if that counts as real progress.

Remy could use some visitors, so if you want to come out and visit either give him a call or his mom because he goes home on Saturday night usually.  Can’t remember his number?  Watch the video and Remy will tell you.  It’s pretty good, you’ll have a laugh.  Cheers Popito

Remy Update May 2013

Well, sorry for not updating any sooner but it’s been real busy since the last post.  Remy has moved to a new location again.  Remy is now at Toronto Rehab at 550 University Ave, Toronto ON.  He’s in room 41 on the 11th floor.  He has a really nice room and really likes all the therapies that they are doing with him.  They had him making a grilled cheeze sandwich one day, it didn’t turn out so well [over done] but at least it’s a new skill that he can perfect with continued supervision.  Remy is getting stronger in so many areas.  He is not so dependent on the wheel chair any more and can walk around with the aid of a cane.  His speech is getting better slowly.  I still find it difficult to understand everything without having him repeat what he’s saying but overall I think he’s made some good progress.  Remy is a fighter and is looking forward to his “graduation” on 1 July so that he can go home with his mom.  He’ll still need to do more occupational and physical therapy but will be free of the hospital setting.

Remy still looks forward to having his friends visit and we appreciate all that his friends are doing for him.  He is very fortunate to have all the good friends that he does.

This is what happens when you get T-boned.  Remy was truly lucky that he survived this.  We are also truly lucky that his two friends that were with him survived too.

Driving is a privilege and requires our full attention when we’re behind the wheel.  I’ve been seeing alot of these types of messages since I’ve been in Toronto this week.

Ciao people, be safe, Love to all of you.  Cheers
