Well, sorry for not updating any sooner but it’s been real busy since the last post. Remy has moved to a new location again. Remy is now at Toronto Rehab at 550 University Ave, Toronto ON. He’s in room 41 on the 11th floor. He has a really nice room and really likes all the therapies that they are doing with him. They had him making a grilled cheeze sandwich one day, it didn’t turn out so well [over done] but at least it’s a new skill that he can perfect with continued supervision. Remy is getting stronger in so many areas. He is not so dependent on the wheel chair any more and can walk around with the aid of a cane. His speech is getting better slowly. I still find it difficult to understand everything without having him repeat what he’s saying but overall I think he’s made some good progress. Remy is a fighter and is looking forward to his “graduation” on 1 July so that he can go home with his mom. He’ll still need to do more occupational and physical therapy but will be free of the hospital setting.

Remy still looks forward to having his friends visit and we appreciate all that his friends are doing for him. He is very fortunate to have all the good friends that he does.

If you haven’t seen a picture of what Remy’s car looked like after the accident here it is.
This is what happens when you get T-boned. Remy was truly lucky that he survived this. We are also truly lucky that his two friends that were with him survived too.
Driving is a privilege and requires our full attention when we’re behind the wheel. I’ve been seeing alot of these types of messages since I’ve been in Toronto this week.
Ciao people, be safe, Love to all of you. Cheers

ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Rejean.
Great to see Remy doing so much better. Not sure if you remember me but we lived in Angus and our son Willy was friends with Remy but we moved away to Halifax when they finished grade 6. We are still in Halifax Willy is now working in fort mcmurray and coming home in the next month or so..he may stop in TO for a week or so on the way. I remember you made a cd of the boys in their baseball uniforms and set it to music before we left, i tried to make a copy of it and accidentally erased it..was pretty disappointed too cause it was a really nice memory of their friendship. I have been following this blog but didn't know if i should comment but i would like to say i am very happy for Remy, he's come such a long way and should be very proud of himself.
Your message about driving being a privelige and requiring our full attention is an important one...please tell Remy we all wish him well and keep up the good work....will keep you all in our prayers <3 ;)
Take care,
